Police Authority Chair Re-Elected

Ms Alene Branton MBE, Chair of Humberside Police Authority and Councillor David Rudd, Vice Chair of Humberside Police AuthorityAt Humberside Police Authority’s Annual General Meeting, held 17 June 2008, Independent Member Alene Branton MBE was unanimously re-elected as the Chair of the Authority.  Speaking after the meeting she said: “I feel privileged to have the opportunity to continue my work as Chair of the Authority, so that we can build on what we have achieved so far."
 
Councillor David Rudd from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council was appointed as the new Vice-Chair of the Authority. Click on the link above to read the full press release.

Fewer Victims of Crime in Humberside as Police Performance Improves

Figures released by Humberside Police Authority show that police performance over the last twelve months has continued to improve substantially.  The total number of recorded crimes dropped by 14.1% (15,922) compared to 2006-2007, while sanction* detections rose from 24.5% to 31%.
 
This is the fourth consecutive year to show a fall in the rate of crime in Humberside.
