Background

Humberside FlAG was established to allow the diverse communities of Humberside a voice in the strategic direction of Humberside Police Force.

We work in Partnership with the Police and the Police Authority by providing independent, community involvement at the strategic leadership level to advise on the direction, policy, practices and procedures of the Police which directly involve the policing of Humberside's communities.

The Group is looking for people from the diverse ethnic and faith communities, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, people with disabilities, and the older and younger elements of the population to join the group, which will help ensure that Humberside Police is more accessible and open to questioning.

Konstantinos Mwaura, the FlAG Chair said:

"We are not seeking anyone extraordinary... what we need are everyday members of the community whose life experiences give them an understanding and insight into the difficulties that our communities face. ..

We are looking for people who are willing to offer some of their time, who are committed to making a difference and who can make a valuable contribution that will help bridge the communication and knowledge gap that exists between the Police and the diverse communities of Humberside. ..

We would love to hear from people who want to be involved in improving community relations, developing policy, and assisting in operational matters. Their community knowledge, experiences and expectations are vital to the success of the group. "
