George was born in Tynemouth and lived in Oxfordshire and Nottinghamshire prior
to moving to Humberside in 1974 where he has lived ever since. His membership
on the Police Authority commenced 16 May 2006.
George is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance (CIPFA) and holds
a BA Honours in History with Maritime History.
George has worked a variety of County Councils including Humberside where he
was employed for 22 years. He is now retired however plays an active member of
the community serving as the treasurer for Age Concern Walkington and Walkington
Bowls Club. George also serves as a Parish Councillor for Walkington and enjoys
gardening and walking in his spare time.
