Andrew was born in Leicester but lived in Bury, Doncaster, Stockton-on-Tees, Newcastle, Loughborough, Chelmsford and Ashby-de-la-Zouch before settling in Humberside 6 years ago.

Andrew gained a BA Honours in English Literature at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and worked as a Human Resources (HR) professional for 35 years. He was employed as HR Director for Bass Brewers/Bass International Brewers, Wedgwood UK and Britvic Soft Drinks.

Andrew has served as a Magistrate for 3 and a half years and was employed for four years as Chair of the Authority’s Standards Committee prior to his appointment as Magistrate Member on 21 March 2006.

Andrew is particularly interested in personnel and training and hopes to contribute to the improved working of the Authority and improvements to the Police Force. In addition to his Police Authority Committee Memberships, Andrew is also a member of the Association of Police Authorities (APA) HR Policy Group and the Criminal Justice Task Group.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys rugby, football, cricket and golf.
